The Revolutionary War started because the British taxed the colonists. They taxed them because they blamed them for fighting in the French and Indian War. The colonists rebeled lots of times and some people died in some occasions. The Boston Massacre for one, the colonists taunted the soldiers to a point where they started fireing. Then they had the Boston Tea Party where colonits dressed like natives and snuck onto ships and threw boxes of tea over board. The British weren't happy so they wanted to do something about it.
